This past week I have had the privilege to be apart of something called the WARM project. WARM stands for weatherization and repair ministry, and we go out to about 23 different homes in our community and help with repairs. Sometimes its things as simple as painting or as complicated as replacing roofs and totally re-doing bathrooms.
This year was the fourth year that I have been involved with this and every year it gets more and more inspiring. This year I was apart of a different team I got to work with some awesome new people both young and old. At our site we painted a lot of windows, put up some siding and replaced a door. Not only did we just do repairs but we also went inside and spent a good but of time with the homeowner, which was probably the best and most important part of the whole two days. Getting to know her and her background and also spreading the love of God was a wonderful experience. I almost didn't sign up to do WARM this year but I am so glad I did. I got so much out of the experience and even though I was exhausted by the time those two days were over the joy of helping spread the love of God and also helping out people in our community was defiantly worth it, because WARM isn't about getting something out of it for myself it's about spreading God's word and warming hearts and homes.
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." -Matthew 5:14-16
